Lecture and Lab: Convolutional Neural Networks

In the context of ICAML (icaml.org/events.html), Jan Wegner will give a lecture about artificial neural networks (ANNs) and convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The lecture will consist of two parts:

• Theory: Mon. 3/12/2018 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm @ Lecture Room A255 (Nienburger str. 1)
• Practice: Tue. 4/12/2018 9:45 am - 11:15 am @ Lecture Room A255 (Nienburger str. 1)

In the first part the basic as well as advanced concepts of ANNs and CNNs are explained. In the second part of the event, the participants can experience several aspects of ANNs and CNNs practically. During the lab, different network architectures as well as concepts like data normalization, data augmentation etc. are investigated. No prior knowledge is required, but for the practical part please bring a laptop with internet connection.
